Our latest SS21 collection was inspired by the beautiful island of Hydra. Enriched with culture and history, this seaside port town is a short boat ride from Athens, making it one of our dream holiday destinations.

Imagine walking down cobblestone streets, a picturesque waterfront, friendly locals and donkeys walking around! There are no cars on the island and this is reflected in the laid back atmosphere.

Here we share our favourite hotel, beach and bar as well as the perfect looks to pack for your holiday to Hydra.

What are your favourite things to do when in Hydra?

AP

Not for the faint hearted, but a long hike to the Profitis Ilias Monastery is a must. The view from the monastery’s veranda spectacular: in one shot, you can see the three inhabited bays of the island, the port, the harbour of Kamini, and Vlychos Beach.

I also love visiting the house museums located on the island, many once belonged to ships’ captains and have since been opened up to the public. My favourite is the Lazaros Koundouriotis.

What is your favourite spot for a sunset cocktail?

Papagalos is an amazing place to people watch, sip on sundowners and watch the sail boats return to shore.

What is your favourite restaurant for alfresco dining?

Kodylenia’s Taverna in Kamini is incredible! Petkakis is also an amazing spot, you will find it nestled in between the rocks and it serves up one of my favourite dishes…the feta with red pepper squid! It’s out of this world!

What is one of Hydra’s best-kept secret?

AP

Trying the local amygdalotas! These sweet almond macaroons are unique to the island and originate from the pastry shop called Tsangaris. The recipe originally came from the family’s great grandmother and the recips is still secretly kept by the great-grandson.

What would you pack for Hydra?

love the Urania Cleopatra One Piece, its removable straps make it perfect for tanning and the matching Shirt Dress is the perfect beach cover-up.

The Cleo Crop Top with the Navy Nautical Trousers is also my holiday must-have, both items look great together but are also easily styled with my existing summer wardrobe!

Bratsera Hotel

The Bratsera Hotel has an enchanting aura of the past. The hotel is surrounded by a large garden of oleander and jacaranda, bougainvillaea, wild herbs and cypress. It has also been the location where we have shot parts of our 2021 campaign!

Mandraki Beach

Our favourite beach is located just 2km east of the old Hydra town. Enjoy delicious seafood at the local tavernas which are dotted around the bay!

Effortlessly Styled

Hydronetta
